These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of English Handbook (the “App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Service

English Handbook is a language-learning app that provides a dictionary with AI-generated explanations, synced-transcript audio books, spaced-repetition flashcards, and learning reminders.

2. Accounts

You sign in using your Google or Apple account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Subscriptions & Credits

Some features require a premium subscription or credits, purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and processed via RevenueCat. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your store account settings before the renewal date. Credits are consumed when you request an AI explanation and, unless required by law or store policy, are non-refundable once used.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates these Terms.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the App or its content.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s infrastructure or security.
• Share your account, or access the App using automated means without our permission.

5. AI-Generated Content

Word explanations are generated using AI language models and are provided for educational purposes only. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or context-dependent — use your judgment, especially for important or sensitive matters.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, branding, and dictionary content (excluding AI-generated output and third-party audio book content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App without our permission.

7. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App, or any AI-generated content within it, will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, English Handbook and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law
